What he walked away from

He was young and vibrant. Full of life and happiness. Beauty was he that just looking at him made other people happy. He was the special kind. The kind that made love happen in places where a soul couldn't have imagined.

All of a sudden his sweet innocence covered his present like a shadow tagging along and creeping up on him like a pick pocket.

He got tired of doing the nice things because he received none in return. They weren't worth it anymore. Nobody was. The feeling in his gut judged him continuously, but he couldn't erase the memory of betrayal and of the person who left.

"Someday everything will all make perfect sense."

That also made him understand that a person you meet today may have better intentions for you than the person you have known your entire life.

He didn't remind himself to be happy because he had to be, he reminded himself because he knew he deserved to be.
