Your eyes though! How healthy are they?

There are signs we get based on body languages that we ignore. There are signs we look past like the traffic signs, and still move forward like there's nothing there, and there are signs even our bodies give us that we don't acknowledge. These body signs we ignore with the lil statement "i'm fine, there's nothing wrong" are what catches up to us later on to give us their own lil statement "Don't be so sure."

Glaucoma is an eye disease that doesn't even have signs or symptoms. It's a group of diseases that damage the eye's optic nerve leading to vision loss - blindness.

Studies have shown that eye pressure is a major risk factor for optic nerve damage. When the clear fluid that continuously flows in and out of the chamber and nourishes the nearby tissues doesn't flow out of the eye as easily as it used to and is supposed to, but passes too slowly through the meshwork drain causing the fluid to build up in the eyes, the pressure inside the eye rises to a level that may damage the optic nerve.

Developing Glaucoma now depends on the level of pressure your optic nerve can tolerate without being damaged.

The thing is, not every person with an increased pressure in the eye will develop glaucoma. There are some people who can tolerate higher levels of eye pressure better than others. It could be high for one person, and normal for the other.

High blood pressure too could cause Glaucoma, and you can never know if you have this eye disease or not, because it is only detected through a comprehensive dilated eye exam that includes several eye chart test measures  and eye exams.

Nothing to be scared of at all..

Can Glaucoma be cured?
No. There is no cure for glaucoma unfortunately. The vision lost from the disease cannot be restored.

So seeing the signs of something, anything at all, and not paying any attention to it wouldn't help you at all, especially when it's something as serious as this. It doesn't have to be Glaucoma. It could be something else. Another kind of eye disease or defect that could even throw it's signs at you and beg you to pay attention to it.

It could be anything. Serious or not..
It's best to take care of your eyes much more than you will take care of the clothes you will wear to a serious job interview of course, or something like that. Visiting an optician should be in your schedule. See an eye doctor and make sure everything is okay with your eyes.
